Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations has been
implementing a series of projects in the field of “Child Labour” since 1993
within the framework of International Programme for the Elimination of Child
Labour (IPEC) of International Labour Organization (ILO).
The activities of our Confederation within IPEC has aimed at
diverting working children of basic education age to education, employment of
children who have to work after basic education within the legal framework and
the improvement of their working conditions as well as raising awareness of
their employers; and also at providing the working children, their parents and
their employers with health, training and guidance services.
Our Confederation has organized various seminars and working
group meetings, and has published several books (*) and brochures.
In this period TÝSK focused on service provision and the main
objective of TÝSK activities has been to integrate the effectiveness of all
related institutions and parties and to create the needed synergy.
TÝSK has aimed at creating a model that could be disseminated
to the whole country.
We are delighted to see that our model of “Service Bureaus
for Working Children” has been successful and taken as a model in the whole
world.
