The training and labour force market related activities of the EU are coordinated by the European Training Foundation (ETF), a sub institution of EU. ETF, within this framework, has been conducting its works related with the Mediterranean countries through its National Observatory Network.

Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) and the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ) have initiated the "TİSK and TÜRK-İŞ Efficiency Improvement in Training and Employment Pilot Project" as of April 20th, 2005 in the framework of the Strengthening the Vocational Education and Training System in Turkey Project financed by EU.

Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations has been implementing a series of projects in the field of "Child Labour" since 1993 within the framework of International Programme for the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) of International Labour Organization (ILO). The activities of our Confederation within IPEC has aimed at diverting working children of basic education age to education, employment of children who have to work after basic education within the legal framework and the improvement of their working conditions as well as raising awareness of their employers; and also at providing the working children, their parents and their employers with health, training and guidance services.

Based on the observation that the scientific research, seminars, panel and similar activities shall bring in new perspectives for the topic; our Confederation has begun to implement the "Socio-Economic Status Analysis of Woman Labour Force Project" in 1999, with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, within the scope of large-scale enterprises where collective agreements are concluded.
